We are excited to announce The Heritage & Horizon Program 2024, a comprehensive series of cultural events designed to empower and celebrate New Orleans' vibrant artistic community. Thanks to the generous grant from the New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund (NOTCF), we are able to offer a wide range of training, materials, and events from October to December 2024.

Program Highlights:

Legacy: What’s Your Story Writing and Art Summit Contest

Dates: October - December 2024

Description: Details to be announced soon.

Beyond Stigma Workshop

  • Description: The Beyond Stigma Workshop focuses on addressing the critical issue of stigma associated with HIV, which remains a significant barrier to treatment and prevention. This workshop provides cultural competency training for HIV healthcare professionals and community members, fostering a supportive environment for those affected by HIV. Participants will receive educational materials, including the "Beyond Stigma" book, and certificates upon completion. This training is vital as HIV disproportionately affects Black women and MSM in New Orleans and surrounding parishes, highlighting the need for targeted interventions.

  • Funding: The workshop is supported by the NOTCF grant, covering expenses such as curriculum development, expert trainers, workshop supplies, venue rental, and promotional materials. Time, date, and location will be announced soon.

The Heritage & Horizon Program 2024 is designed to significantly enrich New Orleans' cultural and economic fabric. By attracting participants from both within the city and across the nation, the program aims to invigorate the local cultural scene and create an environment where creatives and culture bearers can thrive. It is set to inspire learning, growth, and active contributions to a vibrant community, enhancing New Orleans' reputation as a dynamic cultural hub.

Our program is crafted to boost community participation by fostering skill development and strengthening organizational structures. Through comprehensive training and educational workshops, we aim to equip participants with the tools needed for effective civic engagement and cultural expression. By involving local businesses, cultural institutions, and non-profits as partners and sponsors, the program reinforces a network of cooperation and support essential for long-term community resilience and growth.

Join Us: We invite you to participate in this exciting journey. Whether as a participant, volunteer, or supporter, your involvement will help us create a lasting legacy that celebrates and sustains the unique cultural landscape of New Orleans. Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to engage with The Heritage & Horizon Program 2024.
